Aluminium anodizing

Aluminium anodizing – Expressive colour and its durability

Anodizing is a metal surface treatment that increases the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the metal surface. This oxide layer protects the metal from corrosion and provides better protection. Most commonly, natural aluminium anodizing is chosen, meaning that the component is treated both thermally and chemically, forming a protective coating without changing the visual appearance of the element.

Many industries choose aluminium part anodizing to enhance their appearance and increase durability. This process ensures a brighter, more uniform, and more durable colour than other treatment methods.

Tank dimensions (length/width/depth): currently 80x80x75cm, but it will be upgraded to 300x90x130cm in the future.

Available colors:

  • naturāla/pelēka;
  • zelta/dzeltena;
  • melna;
  • sarkana.

Anodizing aluminium process

During anodizing, aluminium components are immersed in a special electrolytic solution and connected to a power source as the anode. When a current is passed through the element, an oxide layer begins to form on its surface, and anodization takes place. This layer protects the metal from environmental influences, corrosion, and abrasion resistance, provides long-lasting protection, a good decorative appearance, and the possibility to change the component’s colour.

Applications

Wide applications include medical engineering, aluminium components for electrical appliances, interior and design elements and construction materials.
